Kubamba Krew (K-Krew) is a ministry that seeks to evangelize the youth with the gospel of Christ and seeks to create a sense of social responsibility through Biblical based convictions and contemporary Christian music; our target group being 12-26. Kubamba is slang that means attractive or something that grips you.
How are we planning to do this?1. Media being Radio and TV. BY using these forms of media, we are able to reach people in our community but develop a partnership with so many individuals that we would find harder to reach.
2. High school, college and university outreach. An effective way of evangelism to the youth and we would go under the spiritual cover and guidance of our parent church KPC, but as a partner in the greater community.
3. Hood. A Slung word used to mean neighbor hood. This will be done, by going out to different areas of the country and try to minister to the people of the neighbor hood in a relevant way. This is because of our different cultures, backgrounds and even religious beliefs. By carefully studying the society, we are able to apply Jesus to their life without being mediocre. If it is by showing love, bringing food and clothes, holding a small concert with the local talent; using tools that shall attract the people of the area to pay attention to us with relevance being a key point in evangelism.
4. K-Rave. K-Rave is a relaxed atmosphere where Christians come and meet other Christians, have a few laughs, dance and worship God together. This is done in a non-church setting with regularity so that networking, building of relationships and friendships are met. Thus creating avenues for fun and wholesome entertainment are met to help build the body of Christ.
5. Soccer. We would like to start a soccer team that will play with schools, churches, youth groups, missionary teams, street gangs, may be league teams; as long as we can reach out to people through sports, and then we have reached our target.
6. Totally Sold Out. As Kubamba, we shall try and develop an event once a year that shall be above a beyond the normal Christian events. Ranging from all the musicians in Uganda, to all the people that will be potential sponsors. We will try and develop a culture of good quality entertainment and hopefully the event will move from early December to the end of the year in the next two years.
OBJECTIVES OF K-KREW
1. Life skill development. By creating opportunities for youth to develop their skills be it in music, dance drama, or even sports. So that they do not only base their ministry on the four walls they live in, but can explore other avenues on how to spread the word of God. In a sense create a new generation that does not seek to have a job only in an office, but also as a musician, singer, dram actor, comedian, dancer or even preacher.
2. Creating a platform for the musicians in the gospel industry. Most of the gospel music in Uganda is shunned, ridiculed or not respected. However as K-Krew, we are willing to go the extra mile to create avenues for the music to be heard, to be appreciated, and to grow above and beyond the secular industry. By holding concerts, ministry opportunities, distribution of music in and around east Africa, we are giving voice to the industry which is needed crucially right now.
3. Working with the youth to equip the youth through biblical based teaching and contemporary music. By working with ministries, church leaders, schools, colleges, universities and other various institutions, we are able to reach the youth. But also by using youth to impact youth for the future, by teaching biblical truths from the Bible, but also using contemporary music that is attractive and will introduce them to the saving grace of God.
4. Working with the church leaders to spread the word of God using contemporary methods and music to win more souls to Christ.
STRUCTURE OF K-KREW
Kubamba is a ministry that has a spiritual backing of Watoto and shall partner with the youth ministry at Watoto as a “missional” element to the youth ministry.
Internally as a ministry, this is how it is going to form out;

3. K-Krew Uganda will have full time and part time volunteers, since we are a ministry.

FUNDING OF K-KREW:
1. Sponsors; Many times as musicians, artistes or ministries, we are limited by the amount of money we have to reach out to the growing population that is willing to accept what we put to the table. However, our shy nature as Christians limits us from going to cooperate sponsors for funding. As K-Krew, we are willing to go out and look for this untapped resource to help create a platform for all upcoming and already established musicians that are doing gospel music.
Also biding for cooperate events throughout the year will help us generate money. From promotions to year parties to smaller gatherings we will bid for these events. We will not compromise our standards in whatever way to attain any event, but we shall provide wholesome entertainment, organized planning and event management but also have the gospel tag to all we do, so that our standards remain above the rest of the companies.
2. Partners; We at K-Krew believe that there are people willing to see the gospel spread throughout the country. We are sure that our style of presentation is one of the growing arms of ministry and therefore people will be willing to support this cause if we extend the vision to them. We do not believe in stealing other ministry partners, but we are sure that God will provide these partners since this is His vision.
3. Churches; We are sure that churches do not have the funding. But in terms of manpower, time and other resources like equipment, we receive funding from churches. We have to be careful which church we partner with. This guidance will be given to us by our pastors from KPC who will see fit which ministry to partner with.
4. Concerts and other K-Krew events; we should also look to the culture of people paying for concerts. Of course as a non-profit organization, we can only charge them in a comfortable range. That is why events like K-rave, TSO and many other partner events shall have to help generate some of the other income to help run this ministry.
RESOURCES
K-Krew as a ministry has the following resources available to the ministry;
1. Equipment set that can serve up to 1200 people in one sitting. This includes speakers, amplifiers, microphones and a Dj equipment set. However, we are planning to acquire guitars, keyboards and drums, which we are setting as one of our goals for 2010.
2. Volunteers to help run activities find resources and also gain access to the companies that will hopefully sponsor the ministries ideas and events.
3. The spiritual backing of a church, to help focus and direct the ministry as it grows.
4. Partner ministries like The Joy Centre (Uganda), K-Krew Nairobi, Badilika DJs (Nairobi), Sakata (Nairobi).

When Twonjex was starting out as a deejay, his parents, Rev. Can Ben Mugarura and Auntie Joy, did not welcome the idea. A son of a reverend in a discotheque? But Twonjex pursued his dream and today is the one of the most popular Christian deejays in Uganda.
Twonjex.com is in final stages of completion. Please come back for the latest news and the very best christian entertainment.
